Research Interests & Goals
I am interested in the evolutionary ecology of mating behaviour. While I have previously looked at mate choice behaviour and analysed the outcome of copulation events in fish, my work now focuses on avian reproductive biology prior to fertilisation (sperm competition and cryptic female choice). I will use physiological and molecular technologies, as well as experimental work, to enhance our understanding of female sperm storage in birds.
