Research Interests & Goals
My general research interest is to understand the ecology and evolutionary adaptations in animal communication systems. I have studied adaptive functions and underlying mechanisms of acoustic communication in several interesting model species, most extensively in birds. I am keenly interested in seasonal timing of animal behavior to reveal ultimate and proximate functions of life histories and evolutionary adaptations to the environment.
